TSV Buchbach

How the cult club from a 3,000-resident village stayed injury-free through 16 matches in 8 weeks with B42

“We had 16 matches in eight weeks and, thanks to good load management and the players' base fitness, we came through largely free of injuries. We got through this difficult phase of the season exceptionally well.”

training with B42

TSV Buchbach is a cult club – home matches regularly draw more spectators than the village has residents. But to keep up with the big clubs on a modest budget, the Regionalliga side needs smart solutions. Together with the medical department, the coaching staff around Andreas Bichlmaier and Marcel Thallinger decided to outsource athletic training to B42 – and delivered one of the best first halves of the season in the club's history.

Team Development

Athletic training outsourced, full focus on tactics

Training three to four times a week, Buchbach outsources athletic training via B42, freeing up valuable training time for tactics, technique and game situations. During a stretch of 16 matches in just eight weeks, the team stayed largely injury-free thanks to good load management.

“We had 16 matches in eight weeks and, thanks to good load management and the players' base fitness, we came through largely free of injuries.” — Andreas Bichlmaier, Coach

Individualization

Performance tests instead of gut feeling

With the performance tests in the app, the coaching staff can assess every player individually and prepare them accordingly – especially crucial before the winter break, to give every player the right training program for the off-season.

“With the app we can look after players individually. Where are their strengths? What should a player work on? The performance tests made that easy.” — Marcel Thallinger, Coach

Motivation

From "eternal talent" to role model for the squad

Former captain and record appearance holder Aleksandro Petrovic has long been the face of the club. With B42, his training ethic has fundamentally changed – from a carefree talent to a role model showing the young squad what consistent body work looks like.

“Among other things, B42 has changed my whole training ethic over the past few years. I look after my body, train preventively and eat accordingly.” — Aleksandro Petrovic, Captain
